Today is truck loading day, and by this afternoon our truck full of fresh Vermont balsam wreaths will be making its way down the eastern seaboard. We got a good 4 inches of snow the other night and it froze on the wreaths, so everything will stay nice and fresh on the way down to Florida.

We getting ready to ship our mail order Vermont balsam wreaths far and wide! There is still plenty of time left to purchase everything you need for Christmas from Northeast Kingdom Balsam: Vermont wreaths, garlands, centerpieces, gift baskets, Cabot cheddar cheese and locally produced Vermont maple syrup. Happy Holidays!

Wreath Season's in Full Swing

With daylight savings time, November days in the Northeast Kingdom are shorter but sweeter. Here at Northeast Kingdom Balsam the Season is in full swing. The smell of balsam, cedar, and pine is in the air. The Green Mountains recieved their first snowfall, which lasted for several days and accumulated enough on the high hills for one of our employees to get out for a ski! We welcome the cool November weather which helps to keep our greens fresh and vibrant.

The office staff is busy taking orders and the wreathmakers are busy filling them. If we haven't spoken with you yet this season, we look forward to talking with you. We hope giving our beautiful wreaths to others and decorating your own home with them remains a Holiday tradition for you. It's one we wouldn't give up!
<img width='1' height='1' 2008

Here in West Glover the leaves have changed into their brilliant gold, orange and red fall colors. There is a definite chill in the air, and we may see snow on the mountaintops tonight. We are getting organized for our 32nd wreath season. Wreath makers and brush cutters are calling in. Our shop will start October 27 with cedar and pine, while we wait for three hard frosts to set the needles on the balsam before we start cutting that brush. In the office this year we will have Judy and Patty, who are familiar to our old customers, and now Maria, our young neighbor who has moved back home after college and world exploration. She began her career with Northeast Kingdom Balsam with all the other neighborhood kids twisting berries, stuffing envelopes (with root beer floats for refreshments), and collecting pine cones. Our daughter Meg, who worked in the office last year, designed our new website, and is off to California for the year studying Scientific Illustration. Welcome to our updated site. You may have noticed that prices remain the same as last year. We are trying to do our part to keep inflation down. We'll keep you posted as the season gets going. Peggy
<img width='1' height='1'
